Five Makeup Details to Try One at a Time

You do not need a complete new makeup routine to experiment. Choose one detail, try it in familiar lighting, and keep the rest of the look simple enough to judge the change.

1. A different lip colour

Try a shade close to one you already enjoy before making a larger change. Blot and check the finish in daylight.

2. A small liner accent

A short line near the outer corner can introduce colour. Use only a product labelled for the area where you apply it, and follow its instructions.

3. A lighter base

Apply a small amount where you want coverage rather than automatically covering every area. Blend around the edges and check the result from more than one angle.

4. A softer brow finish

Brush brows into place, then fill only the gaps you want to define. Step back from the mirror before adding more.

5. A change in blush placement

Start with a little product and build gradually. Compare the effect with your usual placement rather than following a rigid rule about face shape.

Keep tools and products in good condition

Follow cleaning, storage and expiry guidance on the packaging. Avoid sharing products used around the eyes and stop using anything that causes irritation.

This original makeup guide replaces the second duplicate beauty draft. The companion hair article serves a different purpose, so the two posts no longer repeat the same text.
